Morongo Valley Clean Team
- Glass, Plastic and Aluminum beverage containers are collected by the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve at 3 locations: at the Preserve, the Morongo Valley CSD and the Hardware Store. Any money from this recycling goes towards the preserve education program.
 Car Batteries Wulf's Drive-Thru Recycling at 7308 Hopi Trail, Yucca Valley, CA 92284 will take you old car batteries to recycle. I think they will even pay you for them - (760) 228-0808
- Used Motor oil can be recycled at the Hardware Store. Call for details 363 6461.
If you are a Southern California Edison customer and have a working fridge or freezer that you no longer want, they will haul it away for free and you will recieve a rebate. The appliance must be at you SCE address, be 14-27 cubic feet and be manufactured before 1990. Call them at 1-800-234-9722 Mon - Fri, 8a.m. to 6p.m. or Saturday 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

- A Househild Hazardous Waste collection site is set up in Joshua Tree every 3rd Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at 62499, 29 Palms Hwy, next to Garry's Tires. Hazardous waste includes motor oil, poisons, fertilizers, pool chemicals, cleaners and batteries. For more details call San Bernardino County's Household Hazardous Waste Program @ 1-800-645-9228.

e old landfill site. Hours are 8 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. They have a mixed recycle bin for cardboard, plastics, glass etc and a metal recycle bin for wahing machines, gates, engins or anything metal. NO hazardous waste, construction material or tires.
